Tribunal Award Limits

The increases to tribunal award limits from 1 February 2013 are set out in the Employment Rights (Increase of Limits) Order 2012 and summarised below.

  • The maximum compensatory award for unfair dismissal increased from £72,300 to £74,200.
  • The minimum award for unfair dismissal increased from £5300 to £5500.
  • A week’s pay for the purpose of calculating the basic award for unfair dismissal and redundancy payments increased from £430 to £450.
  • The daily rate for guarantee pay increased from £23.50 to £24.20.

The increases apply where the event giving rise to the entitlement to compensation or other payments occurs on or after 1 February 2013.
